If you have just damaged just the glass layer of your iPhone screen and your screen works just fine, you only require a glass repair. If you have damage to the display layer of your screen (lines, black dots or have no display) then you will require a display screen replacement.

What is the difference between an iPhone cracked glass repair and display repair?

If you are having a glass repair we actually replace the entire screen through our repair and recycle your damaged screen. Your screen with the damaged glass then goes through a remanufacturing process, where we remove the damaged components and repair the screen back to new. If you have damaged your display, meaning you have lines, black dots or have no working display, then your current screen can not be able to be recycled you will just require a full replacement. Both repairs entail a screen replacement, with the glass repair option you are rewarded for recycling your current screen.

How does the screen repair process work? 

Yes, when a screen is replaced it will show a notification in settings to confirm that the part is unknown by the iPhone. The notification does not affect your screen functionality. We can transfer over your microchip which contains this notification as an additional repair. The notification is misleading by Apple, which also exists when they complete a repair. The notification is only able to be removed after recalibrating through Apple’s cloud based software. We believe Apple have paired iPhone screens to their logic boards control repairs. This is why we support the Right to Repair movement as you as a consumer should have the choice to have your repair completed outside the Apple Store.

Will my replacement screen have the Apple display repair notification?

Yes, the notification exists because the new screen has a new microchip which is communicating a different code back to the iPhone. This code tells the iPhone that the screen has been replaced. The code is within the microchip which translates your touch into a digital signal for your iPhone to understand. We can transfer over the old paired microchip to your new screen. This requires an additional microelectronics repair. Please select the screen microchip repair in the repair selection box to add it to your repair. Can you remove the Apple repair notification?

We don’t offer just the glass repair on an iPhone. This is because the rear glass contains an Apple logo and the glass which is used in the industry is either counterfeit or does not contain an Apple logo. We offer a full housing repair which is the frame of the iPhone and the rear glass. It is a disassembled part from a new or used iPhone. If you were to have a back glass fitted without an Apple logo, it would devalue your iPhone when you come to sell it or trade it in. We would absolutely advise against having a no logo glass fitted. It’s one of our red flags when it comes to choosing a repair company for your iPhone. If a housing repair is out of your budget we offer protective film which will cover the damaged glass and keep the iPhone air tight.

I’ve broken the back of my iPhone, can you repair just the glass?

With our rear glass repair we are just replacing your iPhone’s rear glass with a glass without a logo. Functionally it works the same. With our rear housing replacement we are replacing the entire housing of your iPhone to another housing which is taken from a new or used iPhone. These are genuine housings which contain the Apple logo. It’s a more sustainable repair as the housings are taking from IPhones which are beyond economical repair. What is the difference between a back glass and housing repair?

Yes, we ask for your passcode so we can fully test your device before and after the repair. As part of our process we will test all functions of your device using industry leading software.

Do you need my passcode for a repair?

Provided the lens is only cracked and not completely shattered it is likely that you would just need a lens replacement. When there is a hole in the lens, dust particles and other debris can damage the sensor underneath and it is in these cases that you would need a rear camera replacement. You can check if your sensor is damaged by aiming your camera at a white, bright surface, if there are grey dots or marks on what should be a white image, then your sensor is likely damaged. If you are unsure, our customer advisor teams will be able to tell you when we receive the device.

We operate a convenient collection, repair & delivery service for clients based within Zones 1 & 2 in London. Our couriers are fully tracked and insured throughout the journey. Book your iPhone repair before 1pm for a same day return.  

Based outside of same day collection zone? We can still collect and deliver your device anywhere in the UK. Simply book to have your device collected via national courier.  Collection is made the following working day after booking.
